Carolina Tiger Rescue, formerly the Carnivore Preservation Trust, is a 501(c)3 nonprofit wildlife sanctuary whose mission is saving and protecting wild cats in captivity and in the wild.

Carolina Tiger Rescue is open to the public for guided tours, by reservation only.

Police capture wild cougar on loose in San Antonio

A cougar escaped from the Wild Animal Orphanage on Friday. The cougar named Sara was 12 years old, declawed, and feeble from arthritis. The cougar was receovered by police.

The WAO announced at the end of August that they were closing and are in the process of relocating hundreds of animals. Carolina Tiger Rescue accepted Sebastian, Sheba, and Tarzan lions and Titan, Bali, and Java tigers from the facility and the 6 cats arrived on November 12th and are currently in Karen's Keep, Carolina Tiger's quarantine.
