Carolina Tiger Rescue, formerly the Carnivore Preservation Trust, is a 501(c)3 nonprofit wildlife sanctuary whose mission is saving and protecting wild cats in captivity and in the wild.

Carolina Tiger Rescue is open to the public for guided tours, by reservation only.

'White Lion' film highlights canned trophy hunting in South Africa





The film White Lion opens today in select US cities. The film follows the story of a white lion from cub to maturity, as he narrowly avoids the a common lion fate of being killed in a canned hunt.

Tourists pay up to $40,000 in canned hunts sanctioned by African governments to make a "trophy kill" of African cats that are bred in captivity and then hunted in a contained environment. The industry brings in $91.2 billion each year according to the Professional Hunters Association of South Africa.
