Carolina Tiger Rescue, formerly the Carnivore Preservation Trust, is a 501(c)3 nonprofit wildlife sanctuary whose mission is saving and protecting wild cats in captivity and in the wild.

Carolina Tiger Rescue is open to the public for guided tours, by reservation only.

Man bitten by tiger is in good condition at UW Hospital





Jon Meeker, volunteer at Wisconsin Big Cat Rescue, was bitten by a tiger on Friday while changing the animal's water. The tiger was able to reach through the fence enough to grab Meeker's sweatshirt and pull his arm into the cage. Meeker and other representatives at the facility feel that this was a freak incident, and that the tiger only wanted to play.

Jeff Kozlowski, owner of the facility, says that he may consider additional fencing and advising volunteers on their clothing choices. Wisconsin Big Cat Rescue was founded in 2005.
